Now that the WordPress block editor (aka Gutenberg) is a thing…and it’s not going away…many of our clients are beginning to take advantage of it. I’ve finally stopped my own tree hugging and have activated it on this site.
I’m so used to working in code that I find the block editor (as well as all dedicated page editors) to be slow and a little clunky. But the more I use the block editor to create content, the more I like it.
Below is a list of resources and tutorials that our clients have found helpful. I’ll keep this post updated as I discover additional resources. So check back often.
- Excellent block editor tutorial
- Classic Editor Plugin (to disable the new block editor)
- Disable Gutenburg Plugin (different plugin that also disables the block editor)

- 10 Best Gutenberg Themes
Please note, if we manage and/or host your website, we disabled the block editor when WordPress 5.0 was launched in December 2018. If you want us to activate the new editor, just drop me an email and we’ll take care of it right away.
