I was pleased to receive an e-mail today from Drew Strojny, developer of Themes by Jestro, announcing their newest theme Punchcut. If you’re not familiar with Jestro, they’re the creators of the popular Vigilance theme. Vigilance is one of the most popular free themes and is a favorite on WordPress.com.
I’ve used the premium version of Vigilance and Jestro’s other theme Titan on a few different sites. They are very clean, simple and well coded.
Punchcut, like it’s predecessors is very clean. It features two built-in fonts and the ability to customize the color scheme from a menu. Punchcut also includes rotating sidebar images and it places tags a the top of each post so that keywords will be at the top of the page. I particularly like the snazzy custom social icons that are displayedat the top of the page. Very classy.
Like the other Jestro themes the premium version is just $48 with lifetime support. While not as robust as the support provided by the giant Thesis community, I have found Jestro to be very responsive and helpful. You can also download a free version that comes without support and limited features.
After walking through the demo site I’ve really gotten to like this theme. When I have a few extra minutes I’ll give it a spin on this site.
