Are you struggling with making a membership website for your business or professional association?

Private membership sites whether for a professional association, online course or private community are much more complex than your average small business site. That’s because these sites “do things” as opposed to acting like an online brochure. By their very nature they protect content and resources for members only, collect payments, handle renewals, sell event tickets, teach courses, provide member directories and a laundry list of “stuff” that I won’t bore you with here.

Most of our clients come to us because they don’t know where to start, who to trust or what to use. And they’re just too busy to try to figure it out on their own. Bottom line they’re frustrated, confused and overwhelmed.

In today’s world you need common-sense, easy-to-understand technical advice and implementation. You need someone to bounce ideas off, to tell you when you’re on track, and to tell you when you are about go off the rails. You need someone to get the messy stuff done, quickly and without excuses. That’s where I come in.

I speak geek, so you don’t have to.

I’ve been creating WordPress based membership communities for over 10 years

I’m one of the original certified WisList Member developers and still going strong. Over the past 9+ years I’ve created and supported hundreds of membership websites of all shapes and sizes using many of the popular membership plugins, e-commerce applications, forms, email marketing services, forums and payment service integrations.

I use a 5-Step process to take you from concept to done

Having worked with so many sites I’ve identified a clear set of decision, planning and action steps that most site owners go through, whether they know it or not. I’ve refined these into a clear process that I follow on almost every project. I use the process to guide you and clarify decisions about site functionality, look and user experience.

This is a very collaborative process where I provide feedback, recommendations and explain the tradeoffs and costs of each. But the final decisions are always up to you. Once that’s locked down I’m able to create an Infrastructure Blueprint which I use to create the website, test it, launch it, provide training and support.

You deserve great service

You deserve great service and I work very hard to deliver it. I make myself available to you in many ways: in person, by phone, email, Basecamp project management on Skype, and face to face. I aim to provide exceptional service. And I usually succeed.

After all these years I still love this business

My greatest thrill is becoming an important team member for my clients, helping them start new ventures, solve problems, streamline operations and play a role in their success.

My clients range from large Washington DC non-profits, a local trial attorney association to a solo subject matter experts with a laptop and a big idea. If that’s you, contact me.
